On the Other Side by Carrie Hope Fletcher | Book Review

A little goal of mine this year is to read more books. I have this goal every year, however I’m not very good at completing this! However, at the end of December I decided that I was going to use my Christmas break wisely and take a break and relax by reading a book. I picked On the Other Side by Carrie Hope Fletcher as I have been meaning to read this book for ages, but have never got round to it, I also really enjoyed reading Fletcher’s other book All I Know Now (which I also reviewed and you can check that out here).

The book is about Evie Snow who died when she was eighty-two, once passed she reaches the door of her own private heaven, she finds that she becomes her twenty-seven-year-old self and her private heaven won’t open. To unlock the door Evie needs to make her soul light enough to pass, therefore needing to get rid of what is making her soul heavy which in Evie’s case is three secrets that have haunted her for the last 50 years. Evie begins a journey of a lifetime as she learns more about life and love and somehow she may find her way back to the only man she ever truly loved.

I suggest that this book would be in the Young Adult section of a book shop, the book is mainly about romance and revealing secrets and isn’t overly about death really. Most of the story is about Evie’s flashbacks to when she was 27 and death doesn’t really come into it.

I really liked this book. I loved Carrie Hope Fletcher’s writing and the story was so beautiful! I need to get the little novella that goes with this book as I am so in love with this story (and I’m also pretty in love with Evie too and I relate to her quite a fair bit).I would 100% recommend this book to anyone, especially if you struggle to keep up the motivation to read as this book was a real page turner for me! I can’t wait to read more of Carrie’s books as the two of hers that I have read were amazing!

This book sounds so interesting! I just turned 27 so reading a story of someone my age is always appealing. Plus, the romance part <3

I love Carrie Hope Fletcher and this book! I also loved her second novel all that she can see, you should definitely check it out! I also love giovanna fletcher. An author that is quite similar to Carrie is Cecelia Ahern, I’ve only read one book by her but I loved it.

I remember seeing this book all over Twitter last year. I still haven’t gotten around to reading it, I’ve not read books by Carrie Hope Fletcher before. I might keep a look out for this one.

I haven’t read any of Carrie’s books despite being a fan of her brother and sister in law so will have to give this one a go. Sounds like a fantastic story and a great read 😃
