VIP Casino Experience at The Grosvenor Casino | Bournemouth

Last week, I was invited along with Bournemouth Bloggers to go to the Grosvenor Casino in Bournemouth to have a go at a game of both roulette and blackjack and also to try the food there. Now, I am 20, however I have never been to a Casino before, I also don’t think that I have ever really gambled before (especially not with my own money!). It’s something that I wouldn’t normally do, however, when this opportunity popped into my inbox I obviously had to say yes!

Casino Membership

Because I was 20 it meant that I had to sign up to become a member of The Grosvenor Casino. Everyone under the age of 21 must become a member to be allowed into the Casino. I had no problems with this as it was completely free and when signing up you get a free £5 chip to spend in the games room (which is a nice touch!). Also, when buying drinks, food or chips in the casino, you can earn points on your membership card. When you have enough points, you can use those points to get free drinks/food/chips, so if you are a regular Casino user, it is definitely something worth getting!

Facilities

Thanks to my blogging twin Harrison for taking this photo!

We arrived at the Casino and headed straight to the bar to get some drinks. The bar has so many options to choose from. I’m pretty sure they had every spirit there that you could imagine! There was an extensive list of cocktails as well. However, I was unfortunately driving and therefore a cocktail was not on the cards for me! I did have a J20 though, which looks like a cocktail right?

We had a little tour of the Bournemouth Casino and it was much bigger than I thought. I mean I had no idea what to expect when going in, but I had visions in my head of it being much smaller. On the ground floor is a reception area and a massive bar where, like I said, you could get every cocktail under the sun there. To the right of the bar is an area where you can watch live sports. This ranges from football, to rugby, to boxing, you name it they will play it!

We headed on upstairs to where the real casino is! Here there are your classic casino games, such as roulette, blackjack, slot machines and much more. There was a poker room that , you guessed it, is where they play poker! It was a really nice size room with lots of tables to play on. On the same floor is the restaurant where we got to try some yummy food!

Food

Did you know that Casinos do food? I didn’t! Us bloggers had a bite to eat in the restaurant there and let me tell you, the food was yummy!

We got to select the items we wanted to on the menu. To start, I chose the Spicy Tomato and Cheese Garlic Bread. Now, if Im honest, it wasn’t very spicy or garlicy in my opinion, it was more like a pizza, however, it was very delicious!

For my main course, I had the 8oz Dukesmoor Premium Burger with Bacon and Cheese. Now let me tell you this, this was one of the best burgers I have ever eaten! I say this because it actually tasted like beef, and not fake beef (if you know what I mean!). It was a burger where you could still taste the flavours of the meet, which I find rare in a burger! Would 100% recommend this!

I want to briefly mention that the prices of the food were really reasonable! For the Dukesmoor Burger, that I had, it costs £9.95. I thought this was really reasonable! When I heard we were getting food from the Casino I thought that it would cost an arm and a leg, but it really didn’t!

Let’s Play

After dinner, we went to a table to learn how to play a couple of games. The first game we learnt how to play was Roulette. Now, this was a game that I still don’t really understand, even though they explained it really well! Basically, there is a roulette wheel that is spun. This wheel has lots of numbers and are either the colour red or black. Using your chips, you bet on either the colour, positioning or the number itself. If it lands on your number you get lots of chips, which in a real game would equal money! I didn’t really do all that well at this. I rarely gained chips, but I lost loads down the shoot when I didn’t win!

We also had a go at Blackjack. Now, I had never played blackjack in itself, but I had played 21 (it’s essentially the same game). Each player gets given two cards. To win, you need to get cards that add up to 21 (if not 21, as close as you can get, but no higher!). The dealer also receives two cards. If your cards are higher than the dealer, then you win! It’s quite a simple game! I really enjoyed this as I kept winning this one, so little miss competitive over here was loving it! As soon as I lost all my chips, I decided that it was the worst game ever 😂!

Packages

The Grosvenor Casino offer so many packages if you are after a night at the Casino with friends! There are so many types of parties to choose from, including a celebration package, a full house experience and even a cinema meal deal where you can have a meal in the restaurant and then get tickets to the cinema to see a film of your choice! The Grosvenor also offer live sporting events and throughout the Summer there will be live entertainment. To here more about the events going on, do go and check out their Facebook page for all the info on the events.

If you would like to see this evening in vlog form then you can check out my weekly vlog for all the blogger shenanigans!

I had so much fun at The Grosvenor Casino, and a massive thank you to them for teaching me how to play roulette and blackjack and for all the yummy food! Even though these were both fun games to play and it’s nice to have the opportunity to earn big money from playing with chips, but its really important to gamble responsibly. It is also against the law in the UK to gamble if you are under 18. Make sure that you are careful when if you play!

I’m definitely not a gambler and probably wouldn’t ever chose to go to a casino but you look like you had a fab time and that BURGER looks amazing! I’d certainly pop in just to try the food 😉
