Playing Golf at Parley Golf Centre

A couple of weeks a go, I headed down to Parley Golf Centre to have a little go at some golf. Now, I’ve never played golf before (so you can imagine that I was pretty bad!). I did try really hard to be successful, but I think I need a few more lessons!

We got there for 12 and was greeted with some awesome bacon baps! Got to love a good bacon sandwich before doing anything, especially golf!

After this we met our coach, Marcus, who was great! He led us for the afternoons activities and taught us a little bit of golf. We first headed to the driving range, where we were taught how to play with an iron. We were given a rough target of a white post. Well, its fair to say that my first attempt, I actually managed to hit it, however, after that, it just went downhill! I think it was beginners luck.

We were then given an opportunity to use a driver as well. Our target was a lot further away this time and I got no where near it! I did enjoy having a go and this club was a lot lighter than the iron, so I thought it would be easier to swing, but clearly not!

After this we headed over to more practise grounds to have a go at some chipping. I don’t want to blow my own trumpet here, but I was actually pretty good at this! Every time I managed to do it correctly I would make some form of squealing noise out of pure excitement and to prove to everyone else that I could do it. I’m very competitive when it comes to these things!

One of my favourite things about the day were these tubey things that you could use to collect up the balls! This made life so much easier and we all became such children with these things running around seeing who could collect up all the balls first. You would have never of guessed that we were all adults!

After having a few goes chipping the ball onto the green we then had a go at putting. Similar to the driving range, I had a little bit of beginners luck as I kept getting it really close to the hole, but as time went by I got worse and worse! We had a little competition to see who was the best putter and Louise won with her last shot being a hole in one.

We ended the afternoon at Parley Golf Centre with a go on the golf buggy. Not going to lie this was probably the best bit of the day. I felt like I was in High School Musical 2 with Sharpay and Troy on the golf course. All I needed was the outfit! We all had a little go on the buggy and looped round and it was actually super fun. I could totally see myself in one of these going round a golf course.

I had such a brilliant afternoon at Parley Golf Centre with Louise, Two Mamma’s Mayhem and Emma. It was so much fun and I felt like I learnt some new skills.

If you would like to see this day in vlog form then check out my weekly vlog here.

I had such a great time and would 100% be up for another round of golf at some point in the near future, as it was a very relaxing game. However, let me gain some more skills first! A massive thank you to Parley Golf Centre and Marcus for the lesson.

A massive thank you to Parley Golf Centre for the invite. I was invited down to Parley Golf Centre for a complementary golfing session. I was not asked to write a blog post, however, I had such a great time AND the photos are too cute to not post! All thoughts and opinions are my own. Also, many thanks to Emma for some of these gorgeous pics!

I will admit my first thoughts which come to mind when someone says golf is boring unless it’s crazy mini gold. But reading your post and your own experience trying golf has been interesting and I think if the opportunity arises I will definitely give it ago since you seemed to have such a great time.

I’ve only ever played crazy golf (which I love!) But my husband plays golf quite a bit, and this post has definitely shown that it doesn’t have to be boring! I’m glad you got to start the day off with bacon (always a good start!) And it looks like you had a great time, they’re gorgeous photos and you look so happy!
