YAY! Another Beauty Review! For one of my Christmas presents, I was given this little Ted Baker set with a nail polish and a tinted lip balm in it. I thought this was so generous and glamorous as I know that Ted Baker can be an expensive brand, so I thought I would do a little review.
Lip Balm
I think my favourite bit about this tinted lip balm is the packaging! The rose gold vibes are just gorgeous, and this just makes it feel a little more expensive and special!
This tinted lip balm is a gorgeous red shade, and I was shocked to open it up and see such a bold colour for a lip balm. I applied and it was soooooo smooth and creamy and it just felt so lovely gliding over my lips. I then looked in the mirror and was completely shocked at how pigmented it was. It was more like a lipstick than a tinted lip balm! It was just full of pigment and quite a bright pinkish reddish colour. However, it was gorgeous on! I wouldn’t have said that it was overly moisturising either, I mean it was super creamy, so I knew it wouldn’t dry them out, but I don’t think I would reach for this if I had dry and cracked lips.
However, what does make this a lip balm is how quickly that it does start to fade on the lips. Move your lips, it comes off, so replication is needed, but then I was expecting that for a lip balm! I do love this and have now warn this on a few occasions out, but I don’t think I will be wearing it on occasions that I know I will be eating food as one minute it will be there, and the next, it will be gone!
Nail Polish
Firstly, I love the colour of this polish! It’s so cute and such a perfect colour for me! I love the deep reds as I think they suit my skin tone really well. In fact, I think that a deep red suits lots of skin tones. I applied the nail polish before I went to bed and within 24 hours of application the nail polish has already started to chip. Its only slightly. I mean you wouldn’t notice it at all, but I am gutted that this fairly expensive nail polish can’t even last 24 hours! Hopefully, with a base and top coat it may last a bit longer as it is such a gorgeous colour. But I don’t think I would go out of my way to buy another Ted Baker nail polish any time soon!
Overall, I think this kit is ok. I’m obviously incredibly grateful to my bestie Bethany for buying me this for Christmas, but for the brand I was expecting a tiny bit better quality product. I personally feel like they spent most of the money on the packaging (which is very lovely and probably the best things about these products as they feel expensive, if you know what I mean!).
