I love a good quiz! I like to watch quiz shows on the telly all the time! It’s one of the things me and my Grandma watch when we see each other, as we love seeing how many questions we can get right. It’s never very many though! However, the point is we try! I have always wanted to go to a quiz night, but I have never been able to attend one as I have never had a team to go with. Recently, I was invited down to Ojo Rojo in Bournemouth to have a go at their quiz night and have a few nibbles!
Ojo Rojo is situated in the Bournemouth Triangle. It is a contemporary Mexican theme restaurant. The dishes are inspired by Mexican street food, however uses inspirations from all around the world.
We were lucky enough to try some of the nibbles that were on offer. Honestly, these were delicious. We had plenty of tortilla chips with lots of different dips to try. We had guacamole, salsa, sweetcorn salsa, chipotle humous (my fave) and frijoles blanco. Included with this was some of the nicest bread that I have had in a long while! It was lovely and warm, like it had just popped out of the oven. It was lush! We also had two massive plates of nachos. They had your standard salsa, cheese and sour cream on them and they were yummy! To finish it off, we also had a bowl of sweet potato fries! These were DELICIOUS! They had this really yummy chipotle mayo on and OMG I need some more of it in my life because it was AMAZING!
Now, onto the actual quiz. The quiz starts at 8:30 every Wednesday and it costs £1 per person. It lasts for about a couple of hours, so plenty of entertainment! You can also have a team with as many people as you like, so our team of 8 was great! The quiz features lots of questions about music and film, so if you aren’t all that clued up on your general knowledge you will be fine! All of us were laughing throughout the night, especially when it came to the anagram round. I mean can you think of a famous person when the anagram they give you is ANAL EGG HOLLER. It took us a while to get the answer and at the last minute Harrison worked out that it was Noel Gallagher (I 100% would never have guessed this, I was too busy laughing at the phrase 😂).
Another round which I liked was the ‘random round’, this changes every week, but last week, each team was given a sheet of tin foil and they had to make something with it. Us bloggers used the theme of the restaurant and made a cup of tequila and a plate of nachos. I mean, it was a good effort…
I had a really good night at Ojo Rojo with the Bournemouth Bloggers. It was nice to spend some time and have a bit of fun with the quiz!
