Last week, I was invited down to Lush in Southampton for an evening of Skincare. Now, recently I have mentioned that I was trying to get back on the skincare band wagon. It’s really helped being invited to a few skincare events such as the Spa and the Body Shop recently. However, I love Lush. I have loved Lush for ages, but my first love of Lush started when I went there for my first ever event down in Bournemouth (you can check that post out here). Is it weird that I feel rather emotional that I am heading back to Lush for an event. I feel so grateful as Lush was what started me off on my events journey and I was so excited to be going back to Lush for an event!
The evening started with us being able to make one of Lush’s Fresh face masks. The choice was out of Cupcake or Rosy Cheeks. I went for Rosy Cheeks as this is perfect for my skin. My skin can get quite red and rough, so by having the rose in the mask, it will calm my skin down and help to reduce the redness. I also loved the scent. I love the smell of roses, so this was perfect for me. Some of us started making Rosy Cheeks and at the beginning it was going great, however, when we added the dry items in, the face mask kind of turned to a powdered mess! So unfortunately, this didn’t work out for us. However, the group making Cupcake went much better!
We then were split into two different groups. One group would have their slate consultation and the other went off to have a hand and arm massage. I was the first group to have a slate consultation. Essentially what this is, is that you go to your local lush store and ask them to find products that are suited to your skin. My skin is very dry and I get red, but apart from that, I am actually quite blessed with my skin. Obviously, I get the odd blemish, but on the whole, I have fairly good skin!
In the slate consultation the Lush staff picked out products for me that would suit my skin type. All the products are placed on a slate and are then tested out on the back of your hand. What is also really great, is that you can choose which of the products you would like to take home as samples. This is so you can try out the products at home and see if they work well with your skin. The slate consultation is available in all Lush stores and is absolutely free. It kind of brings that spa element to the high street and it was so lovely and relaxing. Plus, everyone in the store is super friendly, so you can be in their chatting for hours! I encourage you to go and try a slate consultation.
After this we all swapped and had hand and arm massages. This was DIVINE! With the stress of college and all of my exams it was so nice to have someone get all of the knots and tension in my hand and arm.
We used a couple of products whilst we had this. The first being a scrub. We had the choice of two, but my favourite was the Rub, Rub, Rub Shower scrub. This was the perfect scent for me as it had both that a fruity vibe and it had a floral vibe which was divine. Plus, it is also bright blue which I LOVE! After my arms had been exfoliated we got to use a massage bar. I tried the Pearl massage bar and I instantly fell in love! This has a floral scent which is right up my ally! This massage bar was great and I honestly came out feeling so soft. The hand massage was also really great. My hands felt so relaxed afterwards. It was like a dream!
We were also very lucky to receive a rather lovely goodie bag. Inside were some lovely bits that I will be reviewing at a later date, so keep an eye out for those in the near future! Some of these were samples from my slate consultation and the arm and hand massage, however, I am beyond grateful! These products have all made my skin feel so soft and lovely that I know I am going to be back and trying out new things.
I had such a great night at Lush in Southampton. All the staff were so friendly and so very helpful, it was great. Also a massive thank you for the wonderful goodie bag! Testing all of these products makes me want to go back to the store and get more things so my skin is silky smooth!
