This is sadly the last post of my LA series. This is LA Day 7 and its the day that I was leaving LA. You can catchup with the other LA blog posts here.
Thursday 8th March 2018
I woke up and mad panicked started packing everything! I knew I needed to get it all into my suitcase, and it is fair to say that I bought a fair bit! However, I just managed to squeeze it all in! I had to make my suitcase larger! Looking at it now it was pretty funny!
Once we said goodbye to our little room in our hostel, we headed off out into Santa Monica one last time. We all were desperate to buy some last minute goodies or as I called it, LA tat. Now what I mean by LA tat is kind of the things that have LA written on them like magnets, postcards, you know the drill. Its the things that you have to buy when you go somewhere.
We had more time to kill, but most didn’t have a lot of money to spend. So, we decided to go and get a drink somewhere. We headed into a cafe that served crepes. They gave us the menu, and we all could not say no! They sounded incredible, so we decided to share a couple of crepes. Let me tell you, they were DELICIOUS! SO GOOD! I really could do with another one right about now actually!
After we drank our drinks, and stuffed our faces with all the crepes, we decided to head on back to the hostel to have a sit and a chat and reflect on the amazing time that we had in LA. We talked about our best bits, and our worst bits. We also spoke about the fact that w had not met a single celebrity on the trip. Others had met Matt Damon, Chris Martin and others, whilst my little group had met no one. Now, I know you are never guaranteed to meet a celeb when in LA, but come on, if I was going to meet one anywhere it would be LA right?! However, it didn’t happen. Maybe next time eh?
Sadly, the coach pulled up and on we got. We were making our way to the airport, however we had to make one final stop. RANDY’S DONUTS! YUM! Not only did we stop for donuts, but this was actually used in both Iron Man and the Can’t Stop the Feeling music video by Justin Timberlake. But we mainly stopped for donuts! I picked a vanilla one, and it was SOOOOO GOOD. One of the best donuts I have ever tasted and I would 1000% recommend that you pull in and grab a donut here!
We finally got to the airport, and I’m not going to lie, I was excited to go home! I felt ready at this point!. Don’t get me wrong, I was super sad to be leaving, however, I really wanted to go home and see my Mum.
Now remember I said that I did not meet a single celebrity when I was in LA, well I have worked out that the best place to meet them is at LAX. Not only did we meet one celeb, but 2! RESULT! The first one we spotted was Robbie Kay (he played Peter Pan in Once Upon a Time). Then, someone else spotted Chandler Riggs (played Carl in the Walking Dead). I mean, the one day that I was not wearing any makeup is the one and only time that we see all the celebs! I mean come on! Both were really lovely people. Robbie Kay had a nice good old chat with us in Starbucks which was so nice! Thanks guys!
Our flight number was called, and we were on the plane back to the UK, leaving LA.
I had such a blast in LA and I am so grateful that I got to go and experience LA in such a fun way. I’m so thankful for the teaching staff that took us all on the trip. Honestly, they made the experience so much more fun! Thanks to everyone for being so friendly on the trip and I hope that we can all one day meet up in LA when we are all rich and famous! 😂
Thanks for joining me in this LA blog post rambley journey! I’ve had a lot of fun writing out my days in blog posts! It’s made me feel like I have re-lived the trip and that has been such a lovely feeling!
