A month a go, to the day, I was on my way up to London going to see Taylor Swift in concert. I had been dying to see her since I was about 10 years old and FINALLY 20 year old me got tickets to go and see her on the Reputation Stadium Tour at Wembley Stadium. I had been waiting for this day for SO LONG. I’m still in shock that it actually happened, and Taylor Swift and I were in (a very large) the same room. I headed along to Wembley Stadium with my friend Alice, who is also a Swift fan (not as big as one as me!).
I have been listening to Swift since I was around 9/10 years old. Swift’s music has helped me through many a time, and I am beyond grateful to her for her music. It sounds so cheesy, I know, but its true. Her music just has so much meaning to me. We’ve been through similar emotions. No, not the bad breakups, but the loss of a person. Her music helped me get through the toughest moments in my life, and for that I am beyond grateful as I feel like, she is one of the people who have shaped who I am and who I want to be. This sounds cheesy, but it is 100% true.
So, as you can imagine, the whole day was an emotional rollercoaster for me! I had so many feelings throughout the performance, and I actually cried! There were lots of tears. There were just so many emotions! I’ve never cried at a concert before, so this was a new experience for me, however, I didn’t feel embarrassed. I felt like a normal 20 year old who has been through heartbreak and loss and it was so nice hearing someone tat had been through a similar thing.
Any who, back to the Reputation Stadium Tour!
As you entered Wembley Stadium everyone was given a bracelet. These bracelets were so cool, as they lit up in time with the show. It was such a sight to see in the evening when it got dark. It was just magical. I loved watching the crowd come to life. There was also soooooo much merchandise available, and I really wanted it all. However, I picked the bits that I wanted and I am super happy with them! I have been thinking about purchasing some more online (which I will probably do next month!).
Our seats were actually pretty decent. Not the best, as Swift did look like an ant on the main stage, however she was a gorgeous ant. If I saw this ant, I would not squash it! (I love how I’m comparing Taylor Swift to an ant). What was great was that one of the B stages was directly below us, so for a small portion of the show, she was right by us. She even waved at our side of the Stadium when it was time for her to go back to the main stage. It was just emotional, as I felt like I was saying goodbye to a best friend, even though I had never met her.
She sang some of my favourite songs which made me so happy. My all time favourite song of Swift’s is You Belong With Me. She only played a small section of it, but at least it was still there. I was terrified that she was going to cut the song from her set-list! She also sang Long Live which is about the fans (so basically about me yeah!). Also, on the night when I went during the middle of her performance of New Year’s Day there was an almighty cheer for Swift. I recorded the whole thing,, and it lasted a good three minutes. It was super emotional, not only for Swift, but for me, as the expressions on her face, just showed how happy she was. It filled me with pride to be a Swifty.
I hope this wasn’t too ramble. I didn’t want to not right anything for the show, as it was a show that I always will want to remember. Thankfully, I have the vlog to help remind me of the night. You can check that out here.
Thank you Taylor Swift for the Reputation Stadium Tour. It was the perfect night and I had the best time with you, and I hope and pray that I can see you again!
