September Layout Bullet Journal

For what feels like forever, I have been wanting to start a bullet journal. For the last couple of years I have been watching so many different youtube videos on bullet journaling, however, I thought that you had to be an insane artist to have beautiful bullet journals. Well, it turns out, you don’t. I can’t draw for all the tea in China, yet, I have created a somewhat decent layout for the month of September. So, I thought for this post I would share with you my September layout for my bullet journal.

I have been looking a lot on Pinterest, and have seen that lots of people have themes for their layouts. So, as the month of September is the month I was born in, I thought I would go with a birthday theme. I have drawn inspiration from many different bullet journals, but this is what I came up with.

Title Page

For the first page of the month, I thought I would get creative and draw a birthday cake on the front. I chose to use the colour blue as it is my favourite colour. I also have left space around the drawing incase over the month of September I want to draw anything that reminds me of the month of September. It’s space to help me remember all the good things that happened this month.

Monthly Spread

For this, I just gave myself an overview of the month. I wrote out everyday and left a little space so I could write the important commitments that month. To make is slightly birthday themed I added a couple of birthday hats to the top corners. Again, I used blue as I apparently decided when drawing this all out that I wanted to do a blue theme?

Weekly Spreads

I kept this simple as I need a lot of space to write what I need to do during the day. To keep within the birthday and blue theme for every date I drew a little birthday cake (can you tell I love cake!). On my actual birthday, I decided to colour in the cake to make it stand out, you know, just so everyone knows that its my birthday! At the bottom of the weekly spread, I added a to-do list section and a notes section. The last bit I have added is a how much water I have drunk in a day section. Over the last few months I have got into a bad habit of not drinking enough water. So, hopefully with this section, I will be able to keep track of my water intake and it might encourage me to drink more!

Extra Sections

I have added a few extra pages that are not normally in the average diary to help me keep track of things.

The first page I added was a Race at Your Pace tracker. This is essentially something to help me keep track of how much I have walked in a day. Now that I work part time, I find myself sitting still on most days, so I plan on trying to get out a bit more and walk more. I aim to try and walk at least 1 mile a day.

I added a habit tracker (apparently these are very common in bullet journals). This is basically going to help me keep track of things I want to do every day to try and help me better myself. I also have things that I am generally interested in tracking so I have a record of how much I have done.

The last useful page of September is a Gifts I received page. I love having a record of what I have received. (Not that I expect lots or anything, but its nice to have). Plus, this will also help me to keep track of whom I have sent a thank you card to. I love sending a card to someone thanking them for my gift.

For the last page of September I have added a Disney quote (obviously!). I went with this Never Grow Up from Peter Pan. I felt this was very fitting as I am growing up, but lets be real, I am still a big kid at heart!

So there we have it.

My September layout for my bullet journal. As this is my first month, I am going to be figuring out what works for me and what doesn’t. I already have an idea of what works and what doesn’t. I hope to write one of these posts every month (if the bullet journal works out for me). So, to make sure you see my bullet journal posts make sure you check out Tea Time With Ciara every month!
