This post is not sponsored. I was gifted tickets for myself, and a plus one, to see The Rocky Horror Show at the Pavilion in Bournemouth. All thoughts and opinions are my own. The other night I was invited out to go and see The Rocky Horror Show with the Bournemouth Bloggers.
Here me out for a moment please. I have been watching Glee. I know its not a great TV show, but its on Netflix and it is soooooo easy to watch. Well one of the episodes is about the Rocky Horror Show where the group perform their version of The Rocky Horror Show. I realised that I actually know like 75% of the songs, so when I was asked if I wanted to attend the show, I knew I had to be there.
I’ve never seen the show, and I don’t believe I’ve seen the film either. I guess, the songs are just so popular that most people know them!
Well, I was not disappointed! The Rocky Horror Show got the audience up on their feet at multiple points in the show. I’ve never been to a show that encourages audience participation as much as The Rocky Horror Show. Not only was it getting up and dancing, it was also throwing playing cards in the air, waving glow sticks and so much more. In fact, I think the audience help make the show. Some who are real fans of the show even add lines (which I assume the cast are used to) which adds to the comedy as I feel like that some of the lines are improvised which for me shows how talented the cast are.
Before seeing the show, I didn’t know the storyline of the show at all. Now that I’ve seen it, I can see why it is so popular. The way the show is accepting of everyone, I can see why this is an important show in our culture.
Honestly, this show is a must see. I immediately said to my friend after the show that I wanted to see it again, as I felt like I missed so much. Plus, I feel like it is one of those shows that is slightly different each time you see it.
