This post is not sponsored. I was gifted tickets for myself, and some friends, to see Aladdin at the Pavilion in Bournemouth. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
On Monday, I headed to the Pavilion to see the local Panto. I love a good pantomime. THere’s nothing better than getting super involved and being a child again by shouting ‘he’s behind you’. This year, Bournemouth is hosting the pantomime Aladdin.
I was allowed to bring some friends along for this show. I thought the perfect people to bring along would be a couple of friends from uni, and my boyfriend. Now yes, I know pantos are normally aimed at children, but the reality is, is that we are all big kids at heart, so this would be right up my street (especially mine!). Even though I was sure that we would all have fun, I was still nervous as sometimes pantos can be terrible and really aimed at the children, which is great, but I was taking people who were all in their late teens and early twenties, so I was a bit concerned. Well, I didn’t need to be! There were plenty of jokes for adults throughout the night. In fact, I think there were more jokes for us lot than there was for the kids!
Noel Brodie and David Ball were actually hilarious. I’m not sure, but I feel like they kept adding lines into the show, which was just hilarious. Personally, I also find it hilarious when they forget their lines. It makes the show more real for me! In all the press stuff, they were named as the ‘pantomime favourites’, and I can see why. They were both hilarious, and actually, my favourite parts of the show, were all down to them!
This panto was so much fun! It had the typical jokes that your traditional panto would. In fact, I haven’t been able to stop singing ‘what’s that coming over the hill, is it a Mummy?’ since seeing the show. (Yep, I have been annoying everyone with that, which has amused me completely!).
My friends and I had such a good time seeing Aladdin. We left the theatre in fits of laughter! Aladdin is at the Pavilion until the 5th January, you can book your tickets here. Or, if you would like to see more of my theatre reviews click here.
