Netflix Recommendations | Jan 2020

I love Netflix! Who doesn’t?! Having thousands upon thousands of hours of film and TV to watch on my phone is every film students dream!

Netflix recommendations

Being a film student, I do tend to spend most of my time watching films and TV shows, so I thought that it would be a good idea every couple of months or so to tell you all the things that I think are 100% worth watching on Netflix. People seem to always ask me what I think is good, so I may as well write it down for people to read.

You

So, I only got onto the bandwagon for this at the start of the month. Well, it’s fair to say that I was obsessed with it as I have finished Season 2 already, and I am so ready for Season 3.

Five Feet Apart

Ok, so this is not the best film in the world. However, I fell in love with it! I don’t tend to cry at films, in fact I can probably count on one hand the amount of times I cry watching films. THIS IS ONE OF THOSE FILMS! It got me right in the feels, which is why I would recommend this film to anyone! To make me show my emotion like that for reals, means that this film must be good! I really bought the performance of the (most) characters.

La La Land

This film is a pretty good one too! Now, in my honest opinion, I think the story could do with some work. In my opinion (many people disagree with me entirely on this!) it’s a pretty basic story that I have seen many times before. However, from the technical perspective, this is an incredible film! The shots in this are stunning and the visuals are just to die for. Plus, I love a catchy tune!

The Good Witch

Ok, let me be real here. This is a terrible series. So, you are probably sat their wondering why on earth I would be recommending it to you if I think its utter rubbish. Well, its because of the fact that it is utter rubbish! The same thing happens in each episode, so it’s fairly predictable. By being so predictable, it means you can have it on in the background. I love shows like this, cause normally I would just stick something like Friends on, however because I actually enjoy Friends, I always end up being distracted and watching the episodes (even though I have probably watched all the episodes at least 5 times!), so I never get my jobs done. Whereas with The Good Witch, it’s so bad that I get on with my jobs and have some background noise going on at the same time!

Wonder Woman

Gotta have a bit of fantasy on my list. I love Wonder Woman! Wonder Woman was the first ever super-hero movie I watched, so it has a special place in my heart as it introduced me into a genre that I now love! This film is actually still one of my favourite superhero films. I think its because I love films about the World Wars, as it intrigues me. The new Wonder Woman comes out later this year and I honestly cannot wait to see it, hopefully, its just as good as this one!

Ghost Stoies

You have my boyfriend to thank for this one. I have now become obsessed with this film! I’m not normally into the horror genre, however, this one was actually amazing! I mean, I didn’t let go of my boyfriend the entire time that I was watching this on my first viewing!

The Hustle

I think this dilm is now going to be one of those guilty pleasures of mine! I actually sort of loved it! I am a bit of a fan of Rebel Wilson, I relate to her A LOT! She’s not everyones cup of tea, but I can’t help but love her. Also, this film, I genuinely think is funny, I love that the two con artists try and work against each other, then inevitably end up working together! I mean, its as cliche as cliche goes, but we all love a good cliche right?! Also cam we talk about Anne Hathaway’s British accent in this please!

So there we have it. My current Netflix recommendations. I feel like there is a good range of different types of films and TV shows that there is something for everyone on my list. If you want to keep up with the films I am watching, then you should definitely follow my Letterboxd, also if you would like to see more posts about my Netflix recommendations then you should click here.

If you have anything that you think I should be checking out on Netflix then let me know!
