Vintage Wedding Guest

This weekend just gone I went to my step sister (Laura) and her partner’s (Richard) wedding. The wedding was spread over the weekend with various different activities throughout the course of the weekend. However, the official bit was on the Sunday and there was a massive party after. I haven’t been to a wedding in a while and I thought that I would share a few photos, featuring my makeup and outfit, with you from the event.

I like to keep my makeup simple. I’m not one for loads of eyeshadow and all that jazz. For this look I wanted natural but enhanced and nothing too over the top!

Let’s start at the beginning. The first thing I do is put on some moisturiser as I suffer with dry skin and to be honest it is particularly dry at the moment! I used the Nivea Daily Essentials Moisturiser, I’ve always used this one as it works wonders for my skin!

For foundation I went a little bit upmarket and used one of my favourites which only gets used on special occasions which is the Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation. It matches me perfectly and it has such a nice coverage. I honestly love it so much! I also used my beloved Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer to cover up some blemishes that I annoyingly had for the weekend! To powder and make my face lovely and matte I used the Urban Decay Naked Ultra Definition Loose Powder. I absaloutly love this powder, it makes your face super soft and gives such a natural finish. It also is amazing as it doesn’t provide flash back in photos, so for photos if the flash is on then in the photo you don’t look all shiny which is never a good look.

For bronzer I just used the one I always do which is the W7 Honolulu Bronzer which is good as it isn’t too orangey or too pigmented which I like in a bronzer. To carry on with my cheeks I used my Too Faced Perfect Flush Blush. I absaloutly adore this and because of the shimmer it adds a little bit of sparkle. Speaking of sparkle, for my highlight I used the Miss Guided Too Legit Contour Kit and I mixed both the pink and the yellowish/white shade to get the perfect glow for this look. In the evening my cheekbones were glowing under the fairy lights and it looked cute!

For my eyes I pushed the boat out and used eyeshadow for like the first time in forever! I also used 2 different palettes as well! I mean I know this is a lot to take in and I understand that you might need a breather (if you hadn’t of guessed by now I never wear eyeshadow, but recently I have kind of fallen back in love with it!). I used both the Naked palette and the Naked Basics palette, surprise, surprise by Urban Decay (their eyeshadows are just too darn good!). From the Naked Palette I used the shade buck in the crease, this created a natural but much better looking defined eye. Then for all over the lid I headed towards the Naked Basics palette and used Walk Of Shame as this is my eyelid but better so it was super natural. However, I did want to add some more sparkle so I used Foxy from the Naked Basics and put that on the inner half of my eye to add some slight sparkles! I then used my trusty L’Oreal superliner Perfect Slim in intense black and winged it out. On the top of that I used a black matte shade from the Naked Basics palette to enhance the colour and (top tip alert!) it makes the eyeliner last soooooo much longer!

I went in and did my brows and used the Tanya Burr Perfect Brows kit. This is honestly my favourite brow product. It is so simple and easy to use and they also have the perfect shades for me! For my mascara I used my favourite which is the Maybeline Lash Sensational Mascara which is honestly insane. It does wonders for my eyelashes, it makes them look so much longer than they actually are!

For lips I used a fairly new product that I have ended up falling in love with, which is the Barry M Matte Me Up Lip kit in the shade Go To. I’m 99.9% sure that this is a dupe for one of Kylie Jenner’s lip kits, but I wouldn’t know as I have never had one, but again I love this lip kit!

Last but not least I used my Rimmel Insta Fix and Go Setting Spray. This just helps my makeup stay in place for that little bit longer. This is ideal for days like a wedding where you are getting ready at like 9am and not getting home till 10pm!

If you would like to see me apply this I made a short time-lapse of me doing it on the morning.
