Yes today, Friday the 29th September 2017, I turn 20 years old. I have been on this earth for 2 whole decades, which is kind of crazy to think. I’m now no longer a teenager. I can’t use the excuse of getting up late by saying I’m a teenager. It’s kind of crazy, but I’m also so glad the teenage years are behind me!
Even though I’m getting older, I’m having more fun than ever and I honestly feel like I’m living a second childhood with all my trips to Disneyland over the next year and with my adventures in my film watching and taking photographs. But to be honest, I’ve never been more happy!
Over this last year I’ve been a million times happier in myself, mainly because of my move to not go to university and changing my path by going to college and doing a new set of A Levels, that if you’d have asked me 5 years ago if I was doing these A Levels I’m on now. I would have laughed in your face as I was dead set on being a historian. Well now I’m dead set on being a film maker and I couldn’t be happier with that choice! I’ve made so many incredible friends and honestly I feel like I haven’t stopped smiling since I first stepped on the college campus back in September of last year.
Anyway this isn’t about college, this is about my birthday! I’m currently writing this the day before my birthday so I haven’t opened any presents or even opened a card, but I’m already grateful for the amount of cards that have come flooding through my door this past week and there are even a few presents in that pile and I can’t believe I’m still receiving presents from family members! So thank you in advance. By the time this post goes live I will have opened them and be very grateful for all of them. I will have eaten some birthday cake that my Mum would have made that morning whilst I was at college (or most likely she will have started about 5 minutes before I walked in the door from college that morning. And then this evening we will be going out for a meal at my local pub with my Mum, Grandma and Stepdad and I’m beyond excited to spend some time with the family!
It’s so weird to now say that I’m in my twenties. No longer a teenager, I am now in my twenties… wtf! How is this possible! 😂
Thank you in advance for the well wishes! I’m one happy girly right now!
A very happy birthday to you!! That cake is just adorable, and perfect for the Disney-filled good times you’ve been having. Here’s hoping your 20s treat you right!!
