Universal Studios Hollywood 2018 Bucket List

It’s exactly a week until I go to Hollywood and I could not be more excited! One of the days we get to go to Universal Studios in Hollywood. Before writing this post, I have never had any experience of a Universal Studios park so I have done lots of research into some of the things that I would like to do whilst I am there for the day. I wrote a post like this back in October for my trip to Disneyland Paris which you can check out here.

I think this is a classic thing to do when you go to Universal! The globe is iconic and something that I think should be on everyone’s bucket list as it is just that iconic!

The Simpsons Ride

I have been a massive fan of The Simpsons for as long as I can remember. I used to watch the show with my Dad so the show has a special place in my heart. From what I have seen on the Simpsons ride, its kind of like the ratatouille ride at Disneyland Paris. You are made to feel like you are with the Simpsons themselves and from what little I have seen, the story is the Simpsons at a theme park that has gone wrong.

Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem

I am such a big kid as I love those minions! They are so cute, so this ride is another must for me! From what I have seen this is also similar to The Simpsons ride.

Jurassic Park – the ride

I think this is one of the only ride with actual real life animatronics! This is where the old Jaws ride used to be. For this ride you are sat in a boat and you go round Jurassic Park I believe. From what I’ve seen from vlogs on YouTube it looks awesome and this is a ride I will be pestering my friend Alice the whole day about doing!

Studio Tour

I am a film nerd. I love finding little locations to films and seeing what happens behind the scenes. When I went to Spain last Easter we went to a Western park, there was a museum all about cameras and I was in my element! Therefore, the studio tour is totally something up my street! Again, from what I have seen on vlogs you go round in a little car type thing and see all the different sets. I believe their is Bates Hotel from the legendary Alfred Hitchcock film Psycho, animatronics from Jaws and some stuff from the Fast and Furious Movies. I’m so excited to have a look round all the different sets. I’m also excited to come back and be that annoying person watching the movie and say ‘I’ve been there’ 😂

Meeting the Simpsons

If you have read any of my Disney posts you will know that meeting characters is one of my favourite things to do, however when looking at the list online of characters, there was only really the Simpsons that I wanted to meet. Like I said before, I have been a huge fan of the Simpsons for as long as I can remember and I think that it is such a cool cartoon. So meeting the Simpsons would be just as huge as meeting Mickey Mouse!

Food!

There are a lot of places that I want to eat and drink at, that I know I won’t be able to get round all of them! I have picked my top four that I would like to go to, but I don’t think I will do them all on this trip! Just an excuse to go again!

Krusty Burger

Like I said, MASSIVE fan of the Simpsons, so eating at Krusty Burger would be a dream! I mean from reviews I have read, the food is overpriced for what it is, and its not the healthiest of options, but I mean come on, you don’t get to say you have had a Krusty Burger everyday do you!

Eat a Donut from Lard Lad

Yep, another Simpsons location! I mean, I don’t think I am going to be able to avoid this one! I love a good donut (or if you are from England, doughnut) and this place is just iconic in the cartoon world! Lard Lad sells MASSIVE donuts that look delicious and are like bigger than the size of my head, however, if I can’t convince like 3 or more people to share this, I think I will be sticking to a small one!

Drink at Moe’s Tavern

Last Simpsons related one I swear! Another iconic Simpsons location is Moe’s Tavern. Unfortunately, I’m not 21 as the dream would be to have a pint here, but sadly due to rules, this is not going to happen (just another excuse to go back soon!). I’m quite happy to settle for a soft drink here, but I must have a drink in Moe’s Tavern!

Drink Butterbeer at Three Broomsticks

I’m going to say it to get it over and done with, but I’m not the biggest fan of Harry Potter. I have quite a few personal reasons as to why this is the case, so don’t @ me! However, saying that I would really like to try some butter beer. I feel like that is something we all need to do at least once in our lives and why not do it at a Harry Potter themed pub!

There are loads of other things that I would love to do whilst I am in Universal Hollywood, however this trip I am going with friends from college who probably have their own little bucket list that they want to do! I am going to be really good and try to not dictate the trip! I want other people to have fun whilst we are there too! 😂 I go to Universal on Monday 5th March, so if you are in the park, do come say hello! You will probably find me in the Simpsons area 😂.
