Wood Fire Pizza at Supermarine Southampton

Last week I was kindly invited along with lots of other lovely Southampton Bloggers to go and try out the brand new menu at Supermarine in Woolston, Southampton. I have been here before and did a review of the restaurant last time which you can check out here. I really enjoyed myself last time and the food was excellent and the company was brill too, so I had high hopes for this occasion.

Last time, I said that one of the best things about Supermarine is that they have free parking. This is rare to find pretty much everywhere now, let alone in a city! It’s so refreshing going somewhere and not worrying about parking!

We sat down and out came some different starters. There is such a wide variety of starters and something for everyone! We had pesto on sourdough bread, avocado on sourdough bread, Italian sausage on sourdough bread and we had a tomato and mozzarella salad. We also got to have some ham wrapped on breadsticks, which I really liked how they did this. I really liked this way of presenting the meat (I’m probably going to steal this idea for party food!).

Now, onto the bit that we all love, PIZZA! I remember last time, that the pizzas were really good, but I couldn’t eat much of them as I was soooooooooo full from all the other yummy things! But this time, I was ready for some pizza!

They brought out these massive sharing pizzas, this meant that we could all try a little bit of everything! Supermarine are amazing, and have a massive range of different pizza toppings, so there is something for everyone! There is Hawaiian, Napoli, Avocado & Cherry tomatoes, I mean you name it, they have it. Also, can we just talk about the actual base of the pizza! OMG this was good! Seriously, it was really good! It was lovely and thick and tasted like a proper Italian pizza. I think my favourite pizza by far was the spicy meatball pizza. It was soooo good! If I hadn’t of eaten all the other amazing pizzas I could have totally gone back in for a second slice!

Once we had finished all of the pizza all the Southampton Bloggers were having a bit of a natter and a lovely catchup. All of a sudden, lots of the girls dashed to the side where the chefs were serving our desserts. I had to go and see what all the fuss was about! Well, Supermarine had delivered! They brought out 2 great big chocolate pizzas topped with strawberries. Everyone (apart from myself đŸ˜‚) was going crazy over this. But, sadly, I am not a big fan of chocolate! I know, don’t hate me, but I’m just not a big fan of the taste! However, Supermarine also had made a vegan option, which was a strawberry jam pizza! I was over the moon that I could have dessert for once! My first thought on this strawberry jam pizza was that it was weird. i have never had a sweet pizza before, so I was unsure. However, it did not stop me from eating the rest of my slice! It kind of reminded me (a little bit) of a jam tart in a way.

I had such an amazing time at Supermarine again, and I had such a wonderful time with the Southampton Blogger girlies! I vlogged the event, so make sure to check out the vlog over on my YouTube channel here.

A massive thank you to Supermarine and Southampton Bloggers (and Alice) for the invite. I had the best time and the food was delicious!

This post is not sponsored. I was invited to the complimentary event at Supermarine with Southampton Bloggers. I was not asked to write a review. All opinions are my own.
