Hipark by Adagio Serris-Val d’Europe | Hotel Review Disneyland Paris

Once again, I am back with another hotel review from around Disneyland Paris. Back in March, I stayed in the Hipark by Adagio in Serris-Val d’Europe. The hotel is off-site, which makes it a heck of a lot cheaper, and actually, this hotel is cheaper than most of the others around. So, if you are after a budget friendly holiday to Disneyland Paris, HiPark would be high on the list.

Reception

The decor of the reception was nothing to write home about. I mean, it was alright. There wasn’t much there. A couple of chairs, a table, and the check-in desk.

Check-in was not fun. The receptionist could not speak much English at all. He asked for my passport (didn’t bother looking at the confirmation paper I handed over) (also, when I say he asked for my passport all I got was ‘passport?’) and also for my payment card. I handed it over and then he started typing my details in. At this point, I FREAKED out. I kept asking as to why he was taking my details. I had paid for everything in advance. He was laughing at me. I was not happy, so I asked for my card back and asked him to call the manager. He didn’t give me my card back, however the manager came over.

Essentially, they were taking my details so that they could charge my card incase I broke anything. So, it was almost like a safety deposit. I was relieved, but not happy that the receptionist didn’t tell me what it was that he was doing. The manager was not at all apologetic that there had been a confusion, but I let it slide.

At this point, I asked him to tell me where my room was and I just left. I didn’t confirm with them that I had pre-booked breakfast or anything like that. I was angry and wanted to get out of that situation. Not the most relaxing way of starting a stay at a hotel.

Check-out was simple. All you had to do was pop your key in the box and leave. Simple, no talking to the receptionists!

The Room

Each room is like a mini apartment. It has your standard bed and bathroom. However, these rooms are also fitted with a kitchen. Now, on this trip, I didn’t use the kitchen. However, I did have a look around in the kitchen incase I stayed here again. The kitchen was fully equipped with cutlery, plates, glasses and kitchen utensils. The kitchen also has a little fridge, a hob, microwave and even a dishwasher!

There is wifi, however, I found it terrible! It wasn’t all that great. So, I ended up using my phone data.

Breakfast at HiPark

Breakfast was an added cost per night. It isn’t totally necessary as you have the kitchens in your room, however, when you aren’t planning on using the kitchen, having breakfast in the hotel is a nice option (and from memory, it wasn’t too much extra a night). I went to breakfast at different times throughout my stay. The first day, I got there fairly early (one of the first down actually) and there was so much choice. However, they clearly put everything out when breakfast opens. So, if you arrive towards the end of breakfast, don’t be surprised if there isn’t much left.

The quality of food was good. It was all continental, so no bacon baps! However, what was there, tasted fresh. The French bread was delicious and so was the brie! Also, there were tiny little crepes on offer. These went down a right treat with me, and I kept going back for more! DELICIOUS.

Would I have breakfast again? Possibly, however with the room having a kitchen, its not overly necessary. I would possibly try and bring some cereal or something from home, however there is even a shop near by. So you could always pop in there and get any breakfast bits.

The HiPark has a shuttle bus service direct to Disneyland Paris.

A schedule is provided at check in. However, schedules are also on the bus stops so if you forgot the bit of paper (which I did regularly!) you can always look on the bus stops. Depending on the time of year that you visit depends on how regularly the buses go from the hotels. I went in March which isn’t an overly busy time of year. So buses were not all that regular, which was frustrating.

However, the hotel is a walkable distance to the parks. It’s about a 15-20 minute walk. Lots of people walk, so you won’t be alone! However, it was a nice peaceful walk.

Would I stay here again?

Most likely. Hipark by Adagio in Serris-Val d’Europe is SOOOOO much cheaper than other hotels. It’s also really nice having the addition of a fridge in the room. It means you can purchase stuff (or if you are stingy like me, bring it with you!) and pop it in the fridge. Therefore you can make sandwiches rather than spend shed-loads in the park on food. You could even also pop back for dinner if you were on a tight budget.

Even though, I had the problem at reception at the beginning and that the wifi wasn’t great, it was still a perfectly good hotel and perfect for making the trip that little bit cheaper. The HiPark by Adagio would be perfect for those trying to experience the Disney magic on a budget.
