A weird title am I right? But it pulled you in didn’t it?! Anyways, I’ve seen a couple of bloggers write similar posts about how much their face cost. Well, obviously you can’t buy my face, so it’s more about what I put on my face. I mean skincare and makeup of course! I thought I would go through and see how much money I am spending on my favourite products. (Hopefully not too much!)
Ok, so lets start with Skincare Cost
Nivea 2 In 1 Cleanser & Toner
The first thing I do is cleanse my skin. I have always used the Nivea 2 In 1 Cleanser. It leaves my skin feeling so soft and lovely. The main reason that I probably picked this one when I was younger was because Nivea was a brand that I had heard of. So it made sense to go with them when it came to skincare and because of the price. This cleanser comes in at £1.29, which is ridiculously cheap! I would obviously love to check out other cleaners (the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish comes to mind), but for now, I am super happy with my cheap Nivea classic!
Sanctuary Spa Complexing Perfecting Radiance Exfoliator
Now this is a fairly new one for me. My skin has been pretty bad and I was on the look out for an exfoliator. I was talking to my Mum about this. When she was wandering about in Sainsburys, she decided to treat me and pick up the Sanctuary Spa Complexing Perfecting Radiance Exfoliator. I don’t want to say much about this one as I would like to review it, also I haven’t had it long, so I’m still testing it out. Now, I don’t exfoliate every day, but I do most days as my skin is dry, so I’m testing to see if this helps get rid of some of the dry skin. When I’ve had facials, the therapists always say that the exfoliator changes my skin instantly, so we shall see. The cost of this £10.
Elemis Hydra-Boost Serum
Ok, so 9/10 I forget to use this, but I am on a skincare kick at the moment. When my skin was at it’s best was when I was using the Elemis Hydra-Boost Serum. I’ve done a review of this on my blog which you can check out here. But this stuff is actually incredible! When I used it regularly it literally saved my skin from a dry wreck so I’m hoping it can do the same again! This is the most expensive of my skincare products, but its worth EVERY PENNY! This comes in at £49.
Balance Me Moisture Rich Face Cream
This is another one of the products that my Mum kindly bought for me when she was out shopping as she is the best! Apparently my Mum was standing down the beauty aisle in Sainsburys for a while trying to pick out a moisturiser. After looking at all of them, she finally decided on the Balance Me Moisture Rich Face Cream. Now, as this one is still new to me, I don’t have much to say for this one, but do note that I will be reviewing it in a few weeks to see if it does anything good! This costs £24.
Makeup Cost
Rimmel London Lasting Finish Foundation
I have always liked Rimmel for foundation. My favourite of theirs is the Lasting Finish Foundation as it is a full coverage foundation so it can hide all the blemishes and also any redness that I get (which is amazing!). It makes my skin look incredible, however it can be a little bit drying on the skin ESPECIALLY, if you don’t wear any moisturiser, which I have been guilty of every now and again (ok I got lazy and it became most of the time, but no more!). This foundation costs £8.99 normally but its on sale at Superdrug at the moment. Plus, if you have a NUS card AND a Superdrug points card then you can get 10% off everything at Superdrug so bare that in mind.
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
Now everyone and their mother has used the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer at some point in their life. I’m still on that band-waggon as its the perfect colour for me! I also love this concealer and have found nothing better, not that I have been looking for a new one as this is increidble. I even have 3 spare in my makeup draws incase I run out, which is not something we ever want to happen, so it looks like I will be using this concealer for a while! The cost of this wondrous concealer is £3.99.
Rimmel London Stay Matte Pressed Powder
I love this stuff. I love a matte look, so having a powder that is designed for that is wonderful! In all my years of doing makeup the Rimmel London Stay Matte Pressed Powder has been a constant. Yes, I’ve tried other powders but nothing beats this (especially when it comes to the quality and price!). The cost of the powder is a super cheap £2.99!
W7 Honolulu Bronzer
This is definitely not my favourite product in the world. I mean, I’m not really a big bronzer girl, so when looking for a bronzer I am looking for something cheap! I read everywhere that the W7 Honolulu Bronzer was a dupe for that famous benefit bronzer so I knew this had to be alright! That’s all I really have to say for this bronzer. It’s alright. If you love a bronzed look, then this is not for you, but if you are like me and like a little bit to make you not look so pale then this does the job. This one you can get on Amazon and costs £5.95, plus comes with a brush which is alright!
Too Faced Sweetheart Perfect Flush Blush
Again, I’m not a big fan of blush, but sometimes a little bit is necessary and I only mean a very little bit! I hate loads of it cause it makes me think that there was no point in putting foundation on cause we could have just looked at my bright red cheeks! The Too Faced Sweetheart Perfect Flush Blush in Candy Glow is nice like that. If you want to build it up to have a very blush look then you can, but you can also do what I do and waft it over very lightly and it still looks cute. Plus it has a tiny bit of shimmer in it (now a very tiny bit!) so it’s super cute. This was given to me a fair while ago, not sure I would pay the full price at £20 a time!
Urban Decay Naked Basics Eyeshadow
I would like to think I am an eyeshadow girl with the amount of palettes I have, however, I’m not really. I quite like keeping it super natural, and also it stops my eyeliner from budging if I wear eyeshadow. The Urban Decay Naked Basics Eyeshadow palette is lovely as it has some really nice neutral shades that are the perfect for me. Plus sometimes, in the summer I use the black eyeshadow over the top of my eyeliner to keep it in place for longer and to darken it up a bit. I would 100% repurchase this as the quality us incredible, however, this palette has been discontinued, but the Naked Basics 2 look similar… This costs £20.
L’Oréal Paris Perfect Slim Superliner
I have used the L’Oréal Paris Perfect Slim Superliner for years. In fact, I think it’s the only liquid eyeliner that I have ever used. I repurchase this time and time again as its so good! It’s a really black liner and because it’s really slim you can either have a really thin wing or you can build it up to be bigger and thicker. It means that I can be really precise with my eyeliner. I love this and it is perfect for me and only costs £6.29.
Tanya Burr Cosmetics Perfect Brows
Now, I am gutted, because writing this post has made me realise that my eyebrow kit is now discontinued. I have used the Tanya Burr Cosmetics Perfect Brow Kit for YEARS! So, I am a little bit gutted as this was the perfect shade for me, so once lockdown is over, I am going to have to venture out and find me some new eyebrow stuff. But I think if I remember correctly that this cost me around £10 so we will go with that for now!
Maybeline New York Lash Sensational Mascara
The Maybelline New York Lash Sensational Mascara reminds me of the really good expensive mascaras that do the same job! This is such a good quality mascara for such an inexpensive price. It can get a little clumpy every now and again, but nothing a little wiggle with a mascara wand can’t fix. This costs £8.99.
Lipsticks
For lipsticks I wanted a little section, as I change it up a fair amount and there isn’t really one that I pick over the other, so I thought that I would go for two of my favourites.
MAC Lip Pencil in REDD and MAC Lipstick in Lady Danger
I love a classic red lip and you can’t get much more classic than this MAC combo of the lip pencil in REDD and the lipstick in Lady Danger. This creates that classic 1950s red lip that I love. This is quite an expensive combo but its blooming awesome and has always been something of a favourite of mine. The lip pencil costs £15 and the lipstick costs £17.50.
Maybelline New York Color Sensational Matte Nude Embrace
The Maybelline New York Color Sensational Matte Nude Embrace is the perfect nude. I wear this A LOT as it’s not drying on the lips and it lasts a fair amount of time. Plus it is a subtle enough colour that if it does wear off, it’s not super noticeable! I wear it so much that this is actually the second one of these that I have purchased. My original one I used the whole thing up and I think that is the first lipstick that I have ever finished! This is the cheapest of the lipsticks that I wear, and costs £6.99.
So there we go, the costs of my skincare and makeup routine. So the total cost of my skincare is £84.29. WOW! Didn’t realise how much money I had spent on skincare! Hopefully, if I stick to the routine I can get some nicely moisturised skin!
For the makeup without the lipsticks is a whopping £87.20. I mean, at least I have more products than the skincare for a similar price! The totals for my lipsticks is £39.49. Therefore the total cost of my makeup including the lipstick is a crazy £126.69.
Ok, here it is, the total cost of my daily morning skincare and makeup…. £210.98. I spend over £200 on beauty products. This doesn’t include the products I use to take it off. (If you are interested I use the Garnier Micellar water). Wow! I challenge you to add up how much all your beauty products are. Let me know in the comments below!
