New Year, New Me – Update Jan 2023

It’s been another six months with no post. I gotta get better at this blogging thing. I swear I do enjoy it, just haven’t prioritised it for a while now. I’m going to update with my New Year’s resolutions in the next few days but for now, I am here to update you on all things me!

Where have you been?

My last post on here was all about finishing university. Well I managed to successfully get a 2:1 in Film Production, which I was very pleased with. If you know me personally or have been reading here for a while, you will know that towards the end, university and me did not get on well. But I graduated and had the ceremony in July in Bournemouth. It was a lovely day spent with family.

Since then, I have continued to work part time in a supermarket. Not the ideal job, but its a job and its money. Can’t lie, I was hoping to have left by now and be onto something new, but that hasn’t happened and that’s ok. Lots of circumstances have led to the fact that I am still working retail and also, there is no shame working retail. Lots of people do it, not that I want to be there forever (sorry managers! plz don’t fire me lol).

I have also continued my volunteering with Girlguiding. It may not be the coolest thing in the world to be a volunteer but I seriously enjoy being a Brownie, Guide and Ranger leader. I get to do activates with girls and get to know them and I’ve made some good friends in the process. It’s honestly just really nice. We go on camps. There was one back in August called Wellies and Wristbands which is basically a teenagers festival with artists that no one has ever heard of but it’s quite fun. We always have a laugh anyway!

I went on my holiday of a lifetime to Florida! My boyfriend, James, and I headed out to Florida for 3 weeks back in September and had the best time! We spent a week chilling and shopping and then 2 weeks at Walt Disney World and it was INCREDIBLE! I have vlogged the trip so I would like to talk more about Florida when I FINALLY get round to posting the videos. But, it was honestly one of the best holidays I have ever been on and Walt Disney World might have overtaken Disneyland Paris as my favourite park (but I’m not sure, they are two completely different parks!).

My Grandma is unfortunately getting frailer so in November she moved in with us. Which has actually been so nice. I get to spend a lot more time with her now. It’s nice having a breakfast and lunch buddy again. It kinda feels like she has always been here which is nice.

Oooo, l did do something festive recently. We went to Longleat to see the Festival of Lights again. I went with the Guides and we had a great time. We saw all the animals and the lights were stunning!

Finally, another festive thing! My Mum, Grandma and I had a long weekend away at Disneyland Paris. My Grandma has never been and it’s somewhere I have always wanted to take her. It was the best blooming decision of my life. Seeing her with Mickey Mouse and Winnie the Pooh made me very emotional but also incredibly happy.

And here we are. Another update. Another New Year.

A fresh start. Hopefully I can be a little more active on socials and on here in 2023. I do love this little corner of the internet that I have and I hope that I can keep it going like I used to!
