Hotel Kyriad Disneyland Paris Review

Back in October 2018, I stayed at the Hotel Kyriad Disneyland Paris when I went to Disneyland Paris. When I went it was super good deal, much better than staying in other hotels. I had not stayed here before, but I thought it would be fairly similar to the B&B Hotel Disneyland which I had stayed before. I knew I wanted to write a review on the hotel before I went as it’s just something I like to do, and I also like to have it written down, so when I next visit, I will know whether it’s a good place to stay, and I like to advise people on their Disney trips.

P.S. This is not sponsored or anything like that. I’m doing this off my own back as a point of reference for those going to Disneyland Paris and looking at staying in off-site accommodation.

Anyways, onto the actual review.

Hotel Kyriad Disneyland Paris is super easy to get to from the parks. They have a free shuttle service that is about every 10-15 minutes. If you are leaving the parks, it is the furthest bus stop away which is slightly irritating after a long day, when all you want to do is sit down, but at least its free!

Another issue with this bus is that they cram so many people onto the bus and there are sooooooo many push chairs, it can get rather frustrating. Also, this bus stops at other hotels, so just be wary of that. Depending on the bus driver, the Kyriad is sometimes the first stop and its sometimes the last stop. It’s great when its first as its only a 10 minute journey, but if its last, depending on how long people take to get off at their hotels stop, it could take 20 minutes! Not fun! But, that is not the hotels fault.

Reception

When walking into the hotel, the first thing you see are multiple arcade games. I didn’t think that it was the best place for them, but I don’t think there is another space for them in reality. Once you have walked past the arcade games you are greeted with some of the strangest decor known to man. I didn’t get it. It was kind of cowboy themed and kind of modern, but it just didn’t really work for me. But, I only went into the reception area twice, once to check in and once to check out!

Round the corner from the reception desk is a Disneyland Paris shop. This is great for a number of reasons. 1, you can purchase any last minute gifts that you may have forgotten and 2, you can actually send items from the Disneyland Paris shops to the hotel shop, therefore you don’t have to carry your shopping round with you whilst you go on the rides. Now I’m not sure of all the ins and outs as I don’t tend to buy enough for me to warrant sending any bags back, but essentially, in any Disney shop you can request to send your shopping to your hotel shop for you to pick up.

One thing that I actually really liked about the reception is that above the desks they had check in/check out signs so when you arrived or left you could just get into the right queue. It made life that little bit easier as you didn’t have to go up to someone and then get turned away because you were in the wrong queue. But speaking of check-in it felt like it took forever. Maybe that was just the member of staff I had, but honestly it felt like a lifetime

The Room

It took me a while to actually find my room. However, I was one of the lucky ones. I saw some people wandering around for ages trying to find their room. They did give me a map, but let me tell you it was the most useless map known to man. It didn’t have any room numbers on or suggestions as to where they were. The receptionist didn’t even circle my building. I could have asked but, I just wanted to head to my room and get back to the parks. When I say it took me a while, it probably took me about 10 minutes longer than I anticipated.

Once I was in my room, I actually found it to be smaller than I imagined it would be. I mean, that wasn’t an issue as it was only me in the room. It may have been a bit of a squish if there had been two of us. But in reality, it was actually what I needed for a Disneyland Paris trip.

It had all your facilities like a bathroom with a bath and shower, with toiletries. Plus, it had a hair dryer, which the B&B did not. There was also space to hang items in the wardrobe and a safe as well to protect valuables.

All in all, the room is basic. But, when it comes to a Disney holiday, it’s everything that you need it to be. When I go to a Disney park, I never spend that much time in the hotel.

The only thing that I would add to this room, is a kettle with tea making facilities. I missed the luxury of a kettle!

Breakfast

At the Kyriad, breakfast is an add on. I opted to have breakfast as it wasn’t that much on top of the hotel price. From experience at the B&B breakfast, I wasn’t Expecting much for breakfast at the Kyriad. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see such a range. They had everything from your traditional continental breakfast to your full English breakfast. There. Was also a large selection of bread and pastries. The only thing wrong with this was that I could not find any condiments and I was too scared to ask. I got over this little hurdle by taking extra sauces from the parks so I could have some with my breakfast the next morning.

One thing that I found this time, was that the Kyriad are very strict with guests taking food away at breakfast. Most other hotels don’t seem to have a problem with it, but the Kyriad had signs everywhere saying that no food was to be removed from the restaurant. This was and still is super odd to me, all other hotels seem to be fine with this. The Kyriad even had people standing by the doors (they were designed to clear your tray for you), it wouldn’t surprise me if they pounced if they saw you with a ham and cheese roll.

There we have it.

Thats my opinion on the Hotel Kyriad Disneyland Paris in actual fact, I would stay there again. I felt like it was good value for money. The Kyriad has also had the best breakfast that I have tried so far. It’s also a close distance to the park, and the busses run fairly regularly to the parks. This makes it an easy choice for me to use on future trips.

To check out the room in further detail, I would recommend watching my Disneyland Paris vlog as I did a little room tour within the vlog where I think you can see the room better.
